Sungwon Kim is a guitarist, composer, & producer based in the NYC area.

He graduated from Berklee College of Music (Magna Cum Laude, recipient of numerous awards and full scholarship), Musicians Institute, and Los Angeles Music Academy (Recipient of scholarship). He also earned a graduate degree in Jazz Studies at NYU Steinhardt (Recipient of scholarship). 

Among others, Sungwon has collaborated with John scofield (miles davis), adam rogers (norah jones), peter bernstein (brad mehldau), Valerie Simpson (Ashford and Simpson, Marvin Gaye), Mark Walker (Michael Brecker), David Fiuczynsky (Hiromi, Jack Dejohnette), Talley Sherwood (Grammy winning engineer, Tina Turner), Jimmy Wyble (Jazz Legend), David Glasser (Grammy winning engineer), John Blackwell (Prince, D'Angelo), alan ferber (harry connick jr, esperanza spalding), max weinberg (bruce springsteen, Conan o'brien), john patitucci (wayne shorter).

he also has collaborated with many k-pop artists such as taewoo kim (god), gummy, jk kim dong-wook, so-hyang, etc.

In addition, he had the fortunate opportunity to perform for the legendary guitarist Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. 

Currently, he is playing in the pit orchestra for the hit Broadway musical 'Wicked', ‘Hamilton’, ‘frozen’ and 'one thousand nights and one day' in nyc.
